DIY Face Shield

Due to shortages in personal protective equipment (PPE), here are directions for creating a makeshift face shield in a pinch with only scissors and a laminate report cover (which at the moment are readily available in stores at Staples and on Amazon). These face shields are intended to be one-time use only as the virus can live on the material for extended periods of time. They are also not a permanent solution, but something that might be better than nothing. That said, please do not send these to medical professionals unless they are specifically asked for!

EQUIPMENT

  • Scissors
  •  Laminate report cover
  •  Hole puncher (optional)
  •  Ruler (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS

STEP 1. Open the report cover (insides facing up) and cut the spine right down the middle.

STEP 2. Open the report cover (insides facing up) and cut the spine right down the middle.
